from our promo for this concert
Sunday afternoon’s Free-at-3:00 concert features the Roanoke Rapids-based Take 2 and the Ramblin’ Rose Band, who specialize in original and classic bluegrass gospel music.
The band’s latest CD is I Love You (in Red), which is their fourth. They are led by the singing sisters Jo Reese and Wilma Hamill. Jo Reese also plays autoharp. Glenwood Rose, bandleader, plays lead guitar; J.B. Collins, bass; Eddie Walker, dobro; Jack Hopkins, mandolin; and George Campbell, banjo.
“They’re a lot of fun,” Albright said. “They always bring along a few guests from Roanoke Rapids and a good crowd.”
