From our promo for this show:
Samantha Casey, the 11-year old fiddling sensation from Goldsboro, plays Fountain General Store on Saturday night with an all-star bluegrass band that includes her dad, Daniel, on banjo; Jeff Huffman on guitar; and Kenneth Glover on bass.
Samantha and dad Daniel won last year’s Oreos and Milk ad campaign competition and subsequently performed on several national television shows. They have been playing throughout eastern NC as a duo. Tonight’s special show also features Jeff Huffman, son of the legendary Roby Huffman, and Fountain favorite Glover, who has performed here with several outstanding bluegrass bands.
Samantha Casey and Bluegrass Jam’s February 2 concert begins at 7:30. General admission is $5; reserved seats are $7.50. Children 12 and under are free for this evening’s show, and they will also get free homemade ice cream.
[This was, of course, the band that would soon take on Samantha’s name and become one of the most popular acts we’ll get to host.]
