Kentucky-based Bluegrass Saturday Night

[Fountain, NC] Kenny Stinson and Perfect Tym’n perform original and traditional bluegrass and bluegrass gospel Saturday night at Fountain General Store.

From Franklin, Kentucky, the band is known throughout the South and East Coast for its energetic shows, fast picking, and sweet harmonies.

Bandleader Stinson has been performing for over thirty years. He started out singing Southern gospel but by 1996 had joined bluegrass legend Jimmy Martin’s band, playing bass and singing baritone. Martin called him “the best baritone” he’d had since J.D. Crow, who played banjo and sang tenor with Martin from 1955-1960.

Stinson has fronted his own band for ten years, and he maintains a busy traveling schedule with it. They will be featured on a January 2018 Caribbean Classic Country and Bluegrass Cruise with fellow Kentuckian Dave Adkins.

Stinson plays mandolin and sings lead and harmony. His wife, Ronda, shares lead vocals and harmony, and their son Gavin plays acoustic bass. Chuck Sharpe is on guitar and Dayle Eskridge on banjo. Eskridge and Sharpe were formerly with Changing Times, and Eskridge also plays with the Louisville-based bluegrass band Relic.

Kenny Stinson and Perfect Tym’n’s June 10 concert begins at 7:30. General admission is $8.50; reserved seats, $11.
