Haywire

Location: R.A. Fountain

The return of Haywire with Alice Zincone and Rick Lafleur to Fountain highlighted a 4-day weekend of music at RAF.

Zincone, daughter of Greenville bluegrass musician Buddy Zincone, and Lafleur formed Haywire a couple of years ago, and they were traveling in support of their debut CD, Moma’s Voice. Zincone, who sings and plays bass, titled the CD to honor her mother.

Lafleur, who plays banjo, is a native Canadian who moved to North Carolina to be closer to the roots of bluegrass music. For their Fountain show, Haywire brought along Greg Miller on guitar and Jeff Aebi on mandolin. Miller is formerly of the Grass Cats; Aebi performed in Fountain with Big Medicine, and he will return to Fountain with his own band, Untravelled Road, on February 25.
