Emma Dupree Historical Marker to Be Installed Today

Our annual Emma Dupree Day celebration returns after a 2-year hiatus, and this one will feature the unveiling of a historical marker honoring Mrs. Dupree’s legendary healing powers derived from locally sourced herbs.

The formal marker unveiling will be at 10 a.m., at the corner of Smith and Railroad Streets, a block west from what was for over 30 years Mrs. Dupree’s home.

After the marker installation, the celebration will continue at Fountain Presbyterian Church, where we’ll enjoy music, speakers, and–if it’s safe by then–a community lunch.
