Dan Frechette, whose debut CD was being compared to early Bob Dylan, presented a concert of original bluegrass, Celtic, country, ragtime, and country blues this Thursday night at Fountain General Store.
Frechette, 28, lives in Pinawa, Manitoba. On this 21-date American tour to promote his debut CD Lucky Day, Fountain is one of two stops for Frechette in the south.
A Toronto Star reviewer says that on this CD, Frechette “adapts elemental folk forms to his own purpose, the likes of which I haven’t heard since Dylan’s first recordings.”
