Raymond Pettiford

By 1953, Raymond Pettiford had become orchestra leader and music instructor at Palmer Institute in Sedalia, North Carolina.

He played with the Rhythm Vets for many years, performed on the soundtrack recording for “Pitch a Boogie Woogie,” and returned to Greenville for its re-premiere in 1986.
