Carolina Lightnin’

Location: R.A. Fountain

From our promo for this concert:

Alice Zincone, Rick Lafleur, and Tommy Edwards, a power-trio of some ofNorth Carolina’s best bluegrass musicians, [who will eventually start calling themselves Carolina Lightnin’] are good friends and occasional musical partners. Edwards has his own band, the Bluegrass Experience, based out of Pittsboro, and Lafleur plays with the Grass Cats. “So scheduling them together is never easy but always worth it,” said Alex Albright, Fountain General Store proprietor.

Zincone, a Greenville native, plays bass and sings. She is the daughter of Greenville bluegrass legend Buddy Zincone. She and Rick Lafleur had their own band, Haywire, for several years, and they have recently co-written with Rhonda Vincent a top 20 hit for Vincent.

Lafleur, a native of Canada, plays banjo and sings.

Edwards, who founded the Bluegrass Experience over 40 years ago, plays guitar, mandolin, and banjo and also sings. He is part of several eclectic music groups in the Triangle, including Hot Tub o’ Grits, which performs at Fountain General Store on December 17.
