The Marlboro Boys, formed out of friendships centered around Marlboro Baptist Church in Farmville, were for a couple of years one of the most popular acts to play Fountain. Their Free-at-3 Sunday afternoon concerts regularly drew a full-house.
Players include brothers Steve Sutton, banjo, and Joseph Sutton, guitar; Reed Kennedy, bass; Tim Shelton, mandolin; Bobby Harper, guitar; and Jason Tyson, tenor vocals.
