Take “2” and the Ramblin’ Rose Band, a Roanoke Rapids-based bluegrass gospel band, included the sisters Jo Reese on autoharp and Wilma Hamill, who wrote many of the group’s songs; Glenwood Rose on rhythm guitar; J.B Collins on bass; Jack Hopkins on mandolin; and Eddie Walker of South Hill, Va., on dobro. Jo Reese and Wilma Hamill did most of the singing, and Jean Rose was manager and booking agent.
A very good traditional bluegrass gospel band made more special by Resse’s autoharp.
Take “2” and the Ramblin’ Rose Band released three CDs: I Love You (in Red), How Far Is Heaven? and Gospel Train to Glory.
