New Gospel Grass

Performing original songs and oldtime bluegrass gospel favorites, New Gospel Grass was Mac and Tammy McRoy, Marvin Walker, and Elton Ipock. The McRoys began their performing careers as members of Mary’s Chapel Christian Church in Aurora, where they both were active members in 2005, when New Gospel played RAF for the first time. Big Mac plays banjo, bass, Dobro, mandolin, and guitar; Tammy plays fiddle and bass. Walker, who grew up in Hiddenite but has lived in Kinston since 1988, plays his own homemade banjos. Ipock, from Washington, plays guitar, bass, mandolin, and fiddle.
