Joyce, Billie

from the AllMusic webpage:

Singer Billie Joyce has been a performer since a very early age, but she didn’t start recording until 2002, when her debut Love Tone arrived. Before that point, she was a talented young singer that decided to tour North America when she turned 17. Playing with a country rock band, she fell in love on the road and ended up in Thunder Bay, Ontario. She worked as a prison guard and a counselor in a battered women’s home, but she wanted to continue working on music. She eventually moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and wrote a batch of bluesy rock tracks that reflected her experiences and the experiences of the people she was around in her unusual jobs. She eventually brought her tracks to the studio, where her new band helped her record Love Tone. The CD was released in the summer of 2002, followed by a country-wide tour.
