Franco Funicello, a quartet of rockers who call both Chibo, Japan and Montrose, Colorado, their homebase, played a free concert at RAF in June 2007 as part of their “lower 48” summer tour, in which they attempted to play a date in a different state every day.
Members are Franco, who plays keyboards and guitar; guitarist Isam Fukashimau; Paul, who plays bass and keyboards; and drummer Bob. All share vocals.
They spent the night before Fountain on a beach in South Carolina and after their show and a shower back at our house, they headed off into the night in an old Econoline van with no a.c., hoping to get to a rest area near Virginia Beach to spend the night.
