Without Further Ado, another Clyde Mattocks project, this one playing traditional country music.
From our promo for this concert:
Clyde Mattocks’ latest country music project, Without Further Ado, features vocalist Jessica Gardner on Friday night, and the award-winning old-time quartet the Georgia Buggy Riders perform Saturday night.
Mattocks, the Kinston resident, founder of Super Grit Cowboy Band, and one of the most sought-after session musicians in the South, assembled Without Further Ado to showcase the considerable vocal talents of Goldsboro’s Jessica Gardner. Gardner has been a guest performer at RAF with Don Helms and the Malpass Brothers and she has toured several times with Second Helping, the Lynard Skynard tribute band.
Joining Mattocks, on steel guitar, in the band are two other members of Super Grit: Carroll Wade on bass and Bill Norton on drums. Guitarist Lynn Parker is, like Mattocks, a veteran of the Crystal Coast Jamboree Band.
Expect a set list of covers by classic country artists such as Conway Twitty and Patsy Cline, early rock by the likes of Big Joe Turner, and more contemporary artists like the Eagles and Crosby, Stills, and Nash.
