[Fountain, NC] Ted Jones and the Tar Heel Boys return to Fountain General Store Friday night for a concert of original and traditional bluegrass.

Jones, from Smithfield, is an expert mandolin picker in the cross-picking tradition of bluegrass legend Jesse McReynolds. He has released three CDs and is completing work on his forthcoming tribute to the late Roby Huffman.

“Roby was always one of our favorites,” said Alex Albright, Fountain General Store proprietor. “It’s really fitting that Ted’s carrying on his legacy with this new recording project.”

Also performing with Jones will be Joe Pessolano on guitar, banjo and Dobro; Paul Winstead on upright bass; Lee Flood on banjo; and Ronnie Jones, Ted’s dad, on guitar.
