[Fountain, NC] Singer and dancer Dirk Lumbard headlines Friday night’s “From Broadway to Main Street” show at Fountain General Store.

Lumbard, who has seven Broadway shows to his credit, will be performing with the Steve Creech Jazz All-Stars. Now living in the Edgecombe County community of Old Sparta, Lumbard, who is also now teaching dance at ECU, choreographed two of the pieces featured in last weekend’s “Dance @ Wright,” which kicked off the School of Theatre and Dance’s Playhouse season.

Creech, who plays guitar and directs the band, will be joined by Jimmy Aycock on keyboards; Les Sutorious on trumpet; Phil Owens on bass; and Jon Wacker on drums. [Andrea Owens as an unannounced guest vocalist was an added treat.]

“This is one of the best and most popular shows we get to host,” said Alex Albright, Fountain General Store proprietor, who also added that reserved seats are “highly recommended.”
