[Fountain, NC] Sapony Creek returns to Fountain General Store for a concert of traditional bluegrass and bluegrass gospel on Saturday night.
This Nash County-based sextet features excellent pickers and outstanding harmonies, said Alex Albright, Fountain General Store proprietor. “This is one of the best bluegrass bands in East Carolina. They give you the full bluegrass spectrum, and it’s hard to find harmonies this sweet anywhere.”
Performers include Keith Gaster on guitar and banjo, Ernie Tanner on Dobro, Steve Rowland on guitar and banjo, Wayne Melvin on guitar, Charles Nelms on mandolin, and Paul Winstead on bass. They all share vocals.
