Naming the Twins

Location: R.A. Fountain

from our promo for this concert

[Fountain, NC] Naming the Twins, a folk duo from Nova Scotia, performs original and classic folk songs and Canadiana music this coming Friday at Fountain General Store.

The twins, Robbie Smith and Kathleen Glauser, are touring the eastern seaboard of the U.S. in support of their second recording, “Drifters and Dreamers,” which was named CD of the week on the syndicated folk radio program “The Midnight Special” from WFMT-Chicago.

One critic noted that Naming the Twins are “reminiscent of the best folks duos of the 1960s and ’70s.”

Another said they are “a little like Peter, Paul and Mary if one of the fellows took the night off, a bit like Simon and Garfunkel if Art was a girl, a bit like Gordon Lightfoot or Stan Rogers if either had a girl harmonizer.”

Fountain General Store is one of three North Carolina venues on their current tour, which will have them back in New York City by March 3.
