[[Fountain, NC] Mountain Highway, a 5-piece family band from Lynchburg, Virginia, picks traditional bluegrass and bluegrass gospel at Fountain General Store this coming Friday night.
Formed in 2013, the band has literally grown up together since first picking up instruments at an Instrument Petting Zoo at HoustonFest.
Four McGee siblings, ages 12-17, play banjo, fiddle, mandolin, and guitar, while their dad plays acoustic bass. They are talented and promising musicians who feature tight 3-, 4- and 5-part harmonies.
Mountain Highway has become popular at festivals and churches throughout the mid-Atlantic region and at iconic bluegrass venues like the Floyd Country Store in Floyd, Va., and the Earle Theatre in Mt. Airy. This is their first date at Fountain.
