Twin Fiddles in a 6-piece
teenage band of bluegrassers

The Loblollies, a Raleigh-area youth bluegrass band–ages 14-19–met as players in Pinecone-sponsored monthly youth jams and weeklong camps. Their first time through we had a near-full house on one of those night’s you shouda been here. 

And here they are again: playing a mix of traditional and contemporary bluegrass as well as some original material while proving that the future of bluegrass is in very good and talented hands 

The players: Alanabeth Duncan on banjo; August Sanchez Dunn & Hattie Casper, guitarists; Jorja Cornwell, mandolin; & fiddlers Wasswa Myers & Isabelle Parker.

They’re veterans of some of the best venues  & fests around, including MerleFest, Hopscotch, Shakori Hills GrassRoots, the Lincoln Theatre, Lorraine’s Coffeehouse, & IBMA’s World of Bluegrass & Bluegrass Live! events. They currently host the PineCone Youth Bluegrass Jams every month at the Cary Arts Center, circling back on how they all began.
