Jimbo Mathus & Creatures of the Southern Wild

Jimbo leads MusicMaker’s house band for most of its recording jobs in downtown Fountain, and his show with the Creatures of the Southern Wild here in October 2024, as part of MusicMaker’s 30th anniversary celebration, was a fantastic treat. So we’re especially looking forward to this one tonight, with some special guests, too.

Jimbo was an organizer of the legendary Squirrel Nut Zippers, for whom he wrote songs & played piano. 

Now living in Mississippi, he’s also featured regularly in the new Hulu series It’s All Country. 

Jimbo & the Creatures will be in Fountain recording for MusicMaker for a few days, and on May 16, you can also catch them in Carrboro on the lawn at Carr Mill, from 6:30 – 8:30.
