[Fountain, NC] The Duke Street Dogs kick off Fountain General Store’s 11th year of live music on Saturday, September 12, with an acoustic Americana concert.

The Durham-based Dogs mix songs from Tin Pan Alley with bluegrass, old-time, blues and original music. They perform regularly to enthusiastic crowds at the Blue Note Grill in Durham but this is their first show at Fountain.

The Street Dogs feature a cast of multi-talented musicians who were all formerly in Becca and the Hi-Tones, for the last two decades of the 20th century one of the most popular bands in the Triangle. They all share vocals.

Keith Gulle plays guitar, resonator guitar, and mandolin. Bill Newton has for many years been the best harmonica player in the Triangle. Robert Truesdale plays bass and ukelele, and Michael Borstelman plays guitar and mandolin.

The band was featured on Frank Stasio’s “The State of Things”  and has released one CD.
