for our promo for this concert

Dennis Cash and Sherman Lee Dillon play traditional blues and old-time music. Dillon, a Mississippi blues ambassador, has relocated to Durham and joined up with Cash, who also co-founded bluegrass gospel band Carolina Sonshine.

Cash, one of the leading proponents of the legendary Carter Family’s music, was inducted into the Old-Time Country Music Hall of Fame in 2014. Dillon has performed with Rufus Thomas, B.B. King, Johnny Winter, and Little Milton, among many others. He played Dobro in the movie “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” and his 2014 CD “State of the Blues” was named Traditional CD of the Year by the Rural Roots Music Commission.

“These guys play virtually every stringed instrument,” said Albright. “Guitar, bass, mandolin, autoharp, resonator guitar, and banjo. And harmonica.”
