[Fountain, NC] The Raleigh-based and award winning vocalist Christiane Smedley performs an acoustic show of original Americana and bluegrass with two excellent accompanists at Fountain General Store this coming Saturday night.
Smedley won last year’s Deep South Open Mic competition. She and her band, Christiane and the Strays, were also big hits at last year’s World of Bluegrass Festival in Raleigh.
Joining Christiane for this acoustic special will be two of the Triangle’s best sidemen, Matt Hooper on fiddle and Spencer Mobley on mandolin. Both also currently play with the bluegrass band Diamond Creek.
“The Strays are a terrific electric band,” said Alex Albright, Fountain General Store proprietor. “Saturday’s show, unplugged and without drums, is a perfect fit for our venue and crowds.”

Christiane’s mom, Karen Smedley, also guested on a couple of tunes. She fronts her own bluegrass band, Three Jack Jenny, which we hosted for the first time soon after this concert.
