Charlie Flowers & International Harvester

Location: R.A. Fountain

From our promo for this concert:

The band performs classic honky-tonk country music. Flowers, the Hootin’ Cowboy, fronts a band of fine musicians led by Johnny Barham of Wendell on pedal steel guitar. Ryan Kirby plays bass and Darren Lee plays drums; both live in Wilson. Flowers, of Elm City, plays guitar and harmonica and does most of the band’s lead singing. They are often joined by guest guitarists and singers from the Wilson-area country music scene.

If Bowie Martin is the brains behind the Wilson country music renaissance, Charlie is its heart. His Harvesters are an all-star band, and the Hootin’ Cowboy brings out a fine crowd of fans every time he plays here.
