Carolina Grass

with the Tew Brothers opening

Location: R.A. Fountain

from our promo for this concert

Carolina Grass returns to Fountain with a slightly different lineup from its previous appearances. But the band still plays the same kind of traditional bluegrass–with a few originals thrown in. “They’re one of the best traditional bluegrass bands in the region,” said Albright. “All of them are excellent pickers, and the fun they have during their performances is contagious.”

Players are James Brown on mandolin; Lee Flood on banjo; Kevin Lamm on bass and vocals; Tommy Daughtridge on guitar and vocals; and Larry Taylor on guitar and vocals.

Opening for Carolina Grass will be the Tew Brothers, Keith and Marty, who perform bluegrass gospel. They were lead singers for the popular bluegrass band White Pine Hollow and have recently started performing in the region on their own.

Expect “fine picking and beautiful harmonies” said Albright.
