Acoustic jam

Tim Shelton’s appearance at the jam a couple of weeks ago brought out the bluegrass in several pickers; he and his mandolin were favorites here for years with the Marlboro Boys.

At last week’s jam, local hero Freeman Vines stopped by to pick a little while.

Organizer George Mitchell reports that Rakiem Walker, who’s recently moved to Farmville, will bring along his sax for tonight’s.  He fronts the Rakiem Walker Project, which is still based out of New York City.
